Privacy Policy

DroneWorthy ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Trailhead & Tripod LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Your email address: if you ask us for one of the free guides, such as the sectional-chart cheat sheet or the cram guide.
- Basic, privacy-friendly analytics: aggregate page views and traffic sources via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not track you across other sites. We also keep first-party aggregate counts of a few key actions (signing up for a free guide) to understand how the product is doing. These are anonymous tallies only: no cookies, and no email, name, or other personal data is attached to them.
- Anonymous question statistics: when you answer a practice question, we add 1 to a few counters: how many people have seen that question, how many answered it wrong, and which wrong answer was chosen. These are tallies attached to the question, not to you. No account, no cookie, and no identifier of any kind is sent with them, so there is nothing that can be traced back to a person. We use them to find questions we wrote badly and to work out which topics need a better lesson. You can turn this off in the app's settings, and the app works identically either way.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
We do not record your exam results. There was a milestone-sync feature that sent your qualifying exam scores to us so we could verify a pass-guarantee claim. There is no such guarantee while DroneWorthy is free, so there is no reason to hold that data. The feature is off and the records are not collected. Your study progress stays on your device. Separately, if you do not pass the exam you may choose to send us your FAA knowledge test report so we can improve the lessons its codes flag; we use only the ACS topic codes, ask you to redact your name and FTN first, and delete the report once those codes are logged. This is entirely optional.
How we use it
- To send you the free study material and, if you opt in, a short email course and product updates.
- To deliver the product.
- To understand which pages and topics are useful so we can improve.
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Who we share it with (service providers only)
- Google (Gmail): we send messages from Gmail. (If we later add an email platform such as MailerLite, we'll list it here.)
- Cloudflare: hosting and analytics.
Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.
- Access or delete your data: email support@droneworthy.com and we'll handle it promptly.
- If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of "sale" (we don't sell). Contact support@droneworthy.com to exercise them.
Cookies
The site works without tracking cookies. The app stores your study progress in your browser's local storage so it keeps working offline. This is functional, not tracking.
Data retention & security
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We use reputable providers and HTTPS everywhere, but no method is 100% secure.
